Here is where you will find everything you need to know for the beginners classes.

Your class assignments as well as any homework will be listed on this page by date as well as the video link to go with the days lesson.

Because we are live classes and have so many students from all over we have had to implement classroom rules and etiquette. Below is a list of those rules. Please read through them as if you break the rules they do have consequences. We have to also limit the number of questions and they have to be about the current class. The classes are timed to last from 2:45 through 4 pm. At which time class will end. If there are too many interruptions we will not be able to get through the class and we only have 6 weeks to do these beginner classes in, so therefore the classes are now scripted through so we can get the most information to the beginners that they need in the amount of time we have.

If you are a brand new beginner welcome to your tatting journey. These classes are designed for beginners ONLY. If you know the techniques listed for these classes then you are NOT a beginner but an intermediate. However if you need a refresher course that is fine. We have to limit the number of times you can take this class as we will be repeating this course every 6 weeks. We only have a number of slots we can fill for this course.

I do hope you understand the reasoning behind these changes. Thank you for your patience as we muddle through the new schedule for the beginner classes.

These are the rules for the YouTube Channel Live Classroom

  1. The resource page on our website has links to websites and YouTube channels to help you.

  2. If you want your information shared send it in by email to theonlinetattingclass@gmail.com, we will get it up on our site. We share Etsy shops, YouTube channels and websites.

  3. Be respectful always to everyone.

  4. We close down at 5:00 PM Eastern will return at 10:00 AM Eastern, we will respond the next business day. Weekends, we will not respond until Monday.  (Saturday and Sunday)

  5. Due to the number of students we have in each class we are limiting questions to 3 questions per student per class. You must put them in all caps so that the mods can see them as well as the teacher, so your question gets answered.  If you have more questions, please email them to theonlinetattingclass@gmail.com

  6. With so many in attendance weekly we need to keep the comments and disruptions under control. If you disrupt the classes 3 times you will be issued a warning for each disruption. After 3 warnings and you be muted for the next 3 classes which at that time you will be able to comment again. However, if you are muted 3 times in a 6-month period you will be removed from the live classes. You will still be able to watch the videos later.

  7. At 2:45 it will be questions and answers from last week. At 3:00 class will start, only questions pertaining to today’s class will be answered. Any more questions about last week’s class must be emailed in to theonlinetattingclass@gmail.com to be answered next week at 2:45.

  8. All classes are preplanned and if you have a question for information in that class they will be answered. However, asking for demonstrations for techniques that are not in line with the class material for that day disrupts the class and confuses other students. So, we must stay on the task at hand. The teacher also is not set up to show what you are asking for. At that point you can refer to any of the videos we have up on that technique or use for the technique. Both are in the video representation of each technique.

  9. We do not discuss religion or politics. We only discuss tatting and we have many who talk tatting in many different languages. We cannot guarantee you won't learn a new language but we do not teach foreign language. However many foreign students have learned english from these classes.

This is where each weeks assignment and video link will be posted in order by class
